2025 Congressional Art Competition

2025 Congressional Art Competition

Rep. Eli Crane & 1st Place winner, Nicholas Osborn from Mingus Union High School

April 11th-18th, 2026
Award Ceremony on Saturday, April 18th at 11AM

Each spring, the U.S. House of Representatives sponsors a nationwide high school art competition to recognize the talent of America’s young artists. And this year, the office of Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), in conjunction with the Phippen Museum, is proud to once again host the Congressional Art Competition, which is open to all high school students in Arizona’s 2nd District.

“The Congressional Art Competition is an amazing opportunity to showcase the immense artistic talent in AZ-02. While I can’t say I envy the tough decisions our professional judges must make every year, it’s clear that our students have tremendous skill and vision,” said Rep. Crane. “Thank you to the Phippen Museum staff, teachers, judges, and everyone else who makes this special event possible. I encourage all interested students to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The first-place winner will be flown to Washington, D.C., for an awards banquet and will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. Additionally, several tuition-based scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students.

The deadline to submit artwork is Friday, April 3rd, 2026.

For more information on guidelines and the submission process, including rules, regulations, and required student release forms, please visit crane.house.gov/services/art-competition

A special awards ceremony will take place at the Phippen Museum on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served as the winners and scholarship recipients are announced. Prior to the event, all submitted entries will be on public display at the museum from April 11th through the 18th.

Founded in 1984, the Phippen Museum is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the art, heritage, and history of the American West through exhibitions, educational programs, and community events. It is located just north of downtown Prescott at 4701 Highway 89 North.
