Wanting to expand your palette? Then this workshop is for you! Complementary color can open up a new world and way of looking at and formulating color into your paintings. By focusing on a particular formula of mixing color, mixing and understanding the color spectrum can be simplified!
• Learn how working with a set of complementary colors can actually expand and establish a fresh approach in your paintings.
• Learn to mix a neutral based on complementary color.
• Working with two sets of complementary colors can not only challenge you, but it also contributes to continuity in your paintings
Both days you will be working with and mixing color, but you’ll also apply it using both the still life and photo reference. Be prepared to mix paint, but also please consider working with Fredrix pads of canvas sheets. They’re great for exercises! We suggest pads no larger than 12” x 16” and will have charts on hand to fill in, plus demonstrate both High Key and contrasting Saturated Color! Instructor demonstrations and individual attention provided.
