Shortly after college\, Dan and a couple of his friends formed the Boulder based band\, Dusty Drapes and the Dusters. Known for sure-fire country music and Western swing\, The Dusters headlined packed shows and opened for the likes of Merle Haggard\, Willie Nelson\, Flatt and Scruggs and Linda Ronstadt. Once Dan launched out solo\, he was invited to Los Angeles by Chris Hillman of the Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers. Chris produced Danā€™s first album featuring members of Emmylou Harrisā€™ Hot Band and the Eagles. Danā€™s trail eventually led to Nashville where he continued to write\, record and perform with some of the finest writers and musicians in country music. In addition to shows around the USA\, he has entertained audiences in Japan\, Australia and Europe. The International Western Music Association recently awarded Dan 2021 Songwriter of the Year plus Traditional Western Album of the Year for his album\, ā€œMe and Lesā€. His previous album\, ā€œMontana Moonā€ won 2017 Academy of Western Artists Album of the Year.
