The late, great Bill GaryThe Bill & Marion Gary Western Heritage Gallery features artifacts, photos, articles, memorabilia, artwork, a working chuck wagon and the Arizona Rancher and Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Bill Gary joined the Phippen Museum's Board of Trustees in 2007, and from the moment he became involved, he was a staunch supporter and enthusiastic advocate. He never stopped thinking of new ideas for expansion, development and education, and he and his wife, Marion, continuously made significant financial contributions and material donations. For our front entrance, they donated The Bronco Buster, an amazing life-size bronze originally created by Frederic Remington in 1895. Bill also created, designed, implemented and trademarked the Arizona Rancher & Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2009. Ranching was his true passion and he established this exhibit to bring attention to all the inspriational and hard working cowboys and ranchers who had a huge impact on this area's growth and development.
So it's only fitting that upon Bill Gary's passing in 2014, this maverick and firebrand was rightfully inducted into this prestigious group of characters that he so admired.
Induction ceremonies for the Arizona Rancher & Cowboy Hall of Fame are held every year at the museum's annual Fall Gathering, commemorating our Grand Opening in 1984.
