Deborah Fellows, Rule #1: Never Touch a Cowboy's Hat, bronze, 13.5x13.6, $5,000

Deborah Fellows

Deborah Copenhaver Fellows has built an art career around her love for horses and respect for the western culture. Most of her sculptures are personal anecdotes of a lifetime of rodeos, ranching and romance. What makes Deborah's work so authentically beautiful, so desirable, is the heart she leaves in every piece. They nearly breathe.

Born into a competitive family of rodeo champions, Deborah developed the passion for horsemanship at a young age on the cattle ranch in northern Idaho. She reached rodeo royalty herself as runner up to Miss Rodeo America in 1968. She earned her degree in Fine Arts and paid her way through professional education and independent studies in Italy where she learned the techniques of the European Masters.

Today, Deborah still embraces her western roots and enjoys roping and raising performance quarter horses with her artist husband, Fred Fellows, on their horse ranch in Arizona.
